About Me
It's been said that everything goes better with gravy, in this DJ's case, that saying rings true. Armed with a strong musical background as a singer and (multi) instrumentalist, his discovery of turntables and dj culture came at the age of 19. Immediately thrown for a curve, his casual collection of records quickly became an absurd collection of several dozen milkcrates! His work at Reggae record store Jammyland helped his career get a jumpstart leading to appearances around NYC and Friday nights at NYU radio station 89.1. From there he solidified his place as a party DJ playing clubs, house parties, festivals and private events.
Scratching for years as a turntablist in several live bands, he landed himself a comfy spot with today's busiest musician / producer collective, in the Adam Deitch Project. ADP perform regularly around the U.S. at clubs, ballrooms and festivals.
At recent live performances, Gravy has collaborated onstage with artists like Wyclef Jean, Smif n' Wesson, Master Killa, Matisyahu, Slick Rick, Lutan Fyah, Nardo Ranks and Johnny Osbourne. Not allowing himself to be pigeon holed in a box, Gravy spins everywhere from bottle service clubs, to infamous hipster parties like Retail Mafia Mondaze at Sway, Issue releases for Beautiful Decay, Frank151 and Jamrock Magazine, Photography Exhibits for Marc Baptiste at Milk Gallery, Black Medical School Student Fundraisers, School dances in the South Bronx, Reggae and Hip Hop shows and parties, and well... you get the idea!
Currently, Gravy throws NY's most exciting new Reggae party, "RICE and PEAS". Held at hip upscale venues like APT, Sway, Manor, Love and Studio B with DJs Max Glazer, Gringo, Shortman, Maya, King Jam, Skerrit and many more of the city's top purveyors with co-promoters Roxy Cottontail, Okayplayer, VP Records, Greensleeves, Jamrock Magazine, Link Up Media and Frank151. As promoter, Gravy's busy throwing promotional launch parties for media and popular brands, websites, and stores. Gravy's "Iration Soundz Vol. 4 Mixtape - B.I.G. Tings Ah Gwan" and the "RICE and PEAS" mixtape with the party's main resident DJs. If that's not enough, Gravy's remix game is getting serious and selectors worldwide can be heard playing em with devastating results on the dancefloor. The rest of his works are confidential (for now) but all you need to know is that, it's all gravy!
Gravy's recent European tour, dubbed "Scandagravia", made waves everywhere he played including cities like Oslo, Trondheim, Gothenburg, Malmo as well as Tel Aviv.
