About Me

Hit up:PERFECT PLACE FOR YOU-55 Bristol Ave, Stillwater LakeProfile Edited by MPS MySpace Editor 2.0

My Interests

Motorcycling, boating, preserving memories, adventure, long haul driving, healthy barbequing, skiing (water and downhill), ice skate, water sports, geneology, hockey, people, family reunions, picnics, hiking, photography. I've started a very amateur form of bird watching just because there are so many are flying over my place and landing in the lake. AND...holding hands...

I'd like to meet:

I'm very happy to meet regular people with something ordinary or extraordinary to say with a sense of humbleness & humour; Real people with heart, soul, and laughter. Most probably you. I am interested in people with their own individual passions and things to do. I like meeting people of varied backgrounds, race, and beliefs with likes and dislikes I haven't experienced. If I was to meet anyone famous, it would preferrably be someone with the time to privately discuss relevent issues with me and share ideas on a personal level. Neil Young, Mark Knopfler, Sarah McLachlan or Bono come to mind. A conversation with Kate Clinton, Billy Connolly, Ellen Degeneres, Conan O'Brien, Maggie Cassella, and Russell Peters would be fun. . And...Tim Stephens. Seriously. People tell me they have met me before. Then it turns out to be another Tim Stephens. Tim Stephens is more prolific than I thought...as a name at least. It is cool to meet the other Tim Stephens of the world. Life is an adventure and discovery is my life's work.

Master and Commander, 3 Kings, Shawshank Redemption, Sting, Gattaca, Crimson Tide, Groundhog Day, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Butterfly Effect, Adaptation, Mumford. Too many movies to waste space naming here and I'm still working on a list of "wanna sees" Can't understand why Bulworth wasn't more successful. Racial deconstruction, social deconstruction, economical deconstruction.. I love it!

Television:

I watch CBC: Fraser & The Simpsons, (new to me reruns) Just for Laughs, and other comedy specials. I still tune in hockey once in a while. I agree with Jean Baudrillard and would quote those famous words as a mantra to keep me tuned out. If I had kept cable,I'd see way too much Discovery, History, MTV & MUCH, and Trailer Park Boys:Better to Read, I think.

Books:

I'm getting rid of my library. Too heavy to move around. And too many to list here. Lately, I've found audio books convenient for the multi tasker in me. A recent list includes: The Second Coming of Steve Jobs (Alan Deutschman), My Life (Bill Clinton), Art of War (Sun-Tzu), Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz (Mordecai Richler), The DaVinci Code, Angels and Demons,(Dan Brown) Younger Next Year (Chris Crowley and Henry S. Lodge, M.D.), 7 Habits of Highly effective People, (Steven R. Covey) Billy (Pamela Stephenson).

Heroes:

My Parents, My Ex Wife, My 4 adult kids, My Brother and Sisters, Pierre Elliot Trudeau, Alexandr Solzhenitsyn, Sidney Crosby, Neil Young, and of course, the gardener who cared...

PHASE 4: The continuing search for the real me in the grocery store

Phase 4: Funny how something as simple and routine as grocery shopping can be the defining moments in one's life.   At some point one starts to look back on where one has just been and is oft...

FOOD CHAIN Grocery shopping has evolved PHASE1

I don't actually remember the first day I took a trip to the store.  No doubt I was safely tucked into the pram with my mother pushing whilst grocery bags teetered in the under carriage. I presum...
