I am here for Friends

About Me

I am a horse crazy, music lovin' groupie with red or blond hair depending on my mood or the season. :) I am college educated and a hard worker (I put myself through college, though I still owe on the loans... ), but I love to act silly and have fun with my friends and fam. I go to at least one musical concert a week (often many more), and usually try to drag along anyone willing. What can I say, I LOVE my music. :) I have been a lifelong horseback rider and studied Animal Science and Equine Science at Cal Poly, but unfortunately finances are keeping me from being as active in the horse world as I would like at this time in my life, but I do fully intend on being a horse owner again as soon as my wallet can support such an endeavor. :)
My favorite place on earth is San Luis Obispo area-- great hiking, great views, great people, great air, great... everything. :) Ok, not everything, not great prices, hehe. I am unfortunately living in Bakersfield right now.... worst air in the country... and have been sick all year. But the people I work for/with are good peoples, and excellent equine doctors, so that is good. :)

Myspace for me is about keeping in contact w/my friends & family, my brother is actually the one "forced" me to join a few years ago. :) I beg to steal a quote from a friend's page that reads, "I am more like myself than I have ever been before." :) Life is crazy and I am never quite sure where the road ahead will lead... just when I think I might have an idea, bam! a crack in the road and my path is diverted. ;) But it is exciting, and I do my best to always stay in good spirits and let the good things get to me and the bad things stay at bay. :)
My passions in life include horses, music, friends & family. :)
Here's a little something for you from The Fresh , a sweet band with a heck of a sense of humour. ;)

My Interests

Horses & riding, guitar, aminals, music, hiking, photography, dancing, crocheting, and playing online. ;)

My kitty Sir Lancelot:

For some cool art, check out Seth B. Minkin :)

I'd like to meet:

No body!! Bru ha ha ha!!!

lol, j/k

Music:

Losing myself to the sweet oblivion, the perfect expression found only in music

Music is everywhere, I don't think I could live w/o it. It can exrpess what you're feeling, adjust what you're feeling, or just take you away. I love to learn about new music, but I also have my favorites that I will always be tied to. :)

I have been a long time Tori Amos fan. I've seen her in Seattle (2001), San Diego (2001), San Francisco (2003?), San Luis Obispo (2004?), and Santa Barbara (2005- thanks Rory!). I must have a thing for "S" cities? Her songs are so complex-- there is something for every mood and emotion.

I like all kinda of music but if I had to pick a general category I'd say my tastes tend to hang out most around alternative rock. I love piano, acoustic guitar, and I always forget about it but I really love violin (esp. with the above mentioned instruments involved too... like the acoustic version of Bush's Comedown or Michael Andrew's Mad World). :)

Sean Wiggins is one of my new favorite singer/songwriters, with her band "Sean Wiggins & lOne gOat". I have been driving all over the state (ok, to LA & the central coast) to see them play, and love the music more every show. Just ask and I'll take you along-- you won't regret it. :)

Here is a (poor quality) Sean Wiggins vid I took:

And here is a better quality professional quality video of Sean Wiggins at the Echo Art Space in Grover Beach, CA. Helter Skelter at Echo Art Space

Still Time cd release party in San Luis Obispo:

John Konesky original song "Theme from Muskingum County"

Movies:

My favorite theatre is San Luis Obispo's own Palm Theatre , a splendid little indy place, bringing all kinds of wonderful movies (the kind most people have never heard of). It is also the first ever solar powered movie theater in the US!! :O When I have time (which hasn't been... hmm, don't remember when!) I like to just go and choose a movie by title. :)
I have many favorites, though I don't promise to be able to remember them at any given time, lol. Little Miss Sunshine is the best movie I've seen in a long time, take the time, I just love it, too funny. I think Kevin Smith is great, Chasing Amy being my favorite of his works. I love Garden State, which also has a killer soundtrack. I could think of others, but I don't feel like it. ;)

Television:

No thank you, I'm not a tv watcher.

Books:

I love to read, though as life gets busy I tend to forget this, lol, so I don't necessarily read often (for sport that is; tons of reading for school and what-not), but when I do I like to get into the book and generally will read right through.

Heroes:

People faced with hardship that react with optimism and open hearts instead of hardening to life.
