Trill Gatez began his career in the early to mid 90s as an artist and a producer. After gaining much local notoriety for his hot production, he began to quickly gain regional and national exposure and began producing and featuring on many albums from as far north as Ohio, to all over the South including Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Georgia and Florida. In 1999, Trill Gatez decided to launch his own production company and independent record label called Power Broker Entertainment with the help of his long-time friend and business partner BMZ. This buzz piqued the interest of a member of a popular, well-known Dallas, TX rap group named BIG AL of NEMESIS. The two quickly became good friends and in 2001, along side a very hot underground Dallas artist named Young Mabooda, came the production of the hit single “HOLD UP†which was the lead single off the regional hit record “NEMESIS—MUNCHIES FOR YOUR BASS: DA RETURN†which went on to sell over 15,000 copies while gaining Trill Gatez much more exposure for his production and rhyming skills. The hit single “HOLD UP†received much radio and club spins in the south including Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Mississippi, and continues to receive spins to this day.Trill Gatez went on tour with BIG AL and Young Mabooda all over the South gaining more popularity and was being courted by several record labels due to the big regional buzz being created, however in late 2002 tragedy struck and his then friend and mentor BIG AL passed away suddenly. This setback did not slow down Trill but rather helped him focus on making even better music and helped him to be even more driven.
