I'd like to meet:
I'm not sure. I will know it when I see it. Unconventional people. Nonconformists who have a certain... I'm not sure. Gentleness of spirit perhaps? Loyalty? I'm looking for people who might become lifelong friends who aren't bound by the preconceptions of orthodox culture. That's basically it; likeminded freaks who can handle silence or randomness in conversation. If you think you fit the bill, give me a holler.
Music:
Insane Little Drummer Kid
Add to My Profile | More VideosClassical music including Bach, Handel, Beethoven, Grieg, Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Moussorgsky, Dvorak, Stravinsky, Holst, Barber, Tchaikovsky. An assload of others but I'm too lazy to list them.
Jazz - Bebop era like Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, old New Orleans style, 70s funk fusion (but not modern smooth jazz *shudder*). A lot of the 50s and 60s stuff is all good too but no specifics come to mind. Miles Davis was good up to and including the 70s... Jazz jazz jazz, Some old 40s big band is good as well.
I like 70s funk. Old school Tower of Power circa 1972-74 rocks my world.
Classic rock is good when I'm in the mood... Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Cream, The Guess Who, That flute dude whose name eludes me at the moment... Way to many to list.80s New wave is cool. Early and Middle 80s. That late 80s teenibopper crap just pissed me off. J. Giles Band I always liked, there are certain songs that were actually pretty good but my father played them over... and over... and over... and over... and over... so basically he ruined them for the rest of my life. Danger Zone (Kenny Loggins) from the Top Gun sound track is one of the many that I cant help but cringe when I hear nowadays. A few others from Kenny Loggins as well... "I'm all right" springs to mind. "Addicted to Love" by Robert Palmer, the frikkin' MIAMI VICE THEME!!! He used to like Loverboy. LOVERBOY. For the LOVE of CHRIST LOVERBOYYYYYYY... Very nearly sends me into a murderous rage in my adult life. He always used to crank the sound late at night when I was trying to sleep over and over and over and overrrrrrr he would play these damned songsI like techno/electronica but I'm done with this thing for now. I'll update later.
Movies:
As I said, I like unusual movies. Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Pieces of April, Elephant, Dummy, The Magdalene Sisters, Dancer in the Dark with Bjork, Girls Will Be Girls, Prey for Rock and Roll, The Red Violin, Scorched, Spun, Requiem for a Dream, The Triplets of Belleville, Run Lola Run, The Princess and the Warrior, are a few I've seen recently.
I love Japanese animation... The good stuff like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Now and Then Here and There, Gasaraki, Boogiepop Phantom and NOT Dragonball Z, Pokemon, or any of their derivatives.
I also love kung fu movies for their beauty of movement and certainly not the character development.
Television:
I usually don't watch TV but if I had cable I'd watch Animal Planet, The Learning
Channel, the Discovery Channel, a bit of Cartoon Network, and a smidge of the Sci-fi Channel
