Çagri Erdem was born in 1985, Istanbul / Turkey. He first met the music with the piano lessons that he took when he was a little boy. He began playing guitar at middle school and played in many rock bands. At high school, he began his formal musical studies at Istek Belde Fine Arts School with cello as principal instrument and piano. Then, one year later, he entered in Istanbul State Conservatory achieving the first place degree in eliminations. He has been studying there for 6 years about classical guitar, classical harmony, chamber music, composition etc with various considerable teachers. In addition to that, he studied jazz guitar, harmony and composition with Onur Türkmen privately, joined in several workshops such as Mike Stern's, Darius Brubeck's etc and played in ensembles of Senol Kucukyildirim.
Cagri is actively performing, studying with Selen Gülün and Donovon Mixon. He will be maintaining his formal music studies at Berklee College of Music on scolarship.
