Hi, basically i am a soul music nut, and have been collecting Soul & R&B music from the late 70s. I currently do a radio show on Solar Radio www.solarradio.com, playing a selection of Soul & R&B from the 70s to the present day.The show " Soul Intimacy" was started by myself in around 2001 on a radio station in the West Midlands called New Style FM (www.newstyleradio.co.uk). The show was geared up to present the best quality soul & R& B and to prove that contrary to popular belief, good NEW Soul music was still being made today,in addition to paying homage and credence to all the great soul artists that had come and gone .The show proved to be very popular,and the mixture of new and old music policy turned out to be quite a successful formula.I would like to think that at least in part, some of what i set out to prove was achieved.In around 2005 i relocated to another part of the country, which meant i could no longer continue with the show. My co host at the time PJ then took over the show full time,and continues in that slot today.After a period of doing a few guest shows on a couple of stations around the country , i am now back on a rotation slot with other like minded jocks ( Ralph Tee, Geoff Bingham, Pete Young, Paul Clifford & Roger Williams) Sunday evenings 1800 Hrs to 2000 Hrs GMT, on Europe's leading Black music radio station www. solarradio.com (Sky Digital channel 0129).The ethos remains pretty much unchanged,and i will continue to play the finest soul from today as well as from days past.Check out my list of "TUNES I LIke FROM 2007" blog, also keep your eyes peeled for links to Podcasts from past and present radio shows which you can listen to.
