Despite his track record of writing songs for the varied likes of Michael Jackson, Mya and Bonnie Raitt, there are people who are reluctant to call Teron Beal a songwriter. "Teron's a hit-writer," says one record executive. "He's the guy producers and artists call when they want a sure hit." Beal is regularly pursued by record labels like Universal, Sony, Def Jam and J Records for his abilities. Beal has earned this reputation the old-fashioned way: hard work. He's been penning songs non-stop since he was nineteen and metamorphosed through his "up-and-comer" phase by the time he graduated from college. These days, the Tyler, TX native is continuing his hit-writing streak by working on projects by Mary J. Blige, Usher and Jamie Cullum. He's also pursuing acting, taking a role side-by-side with Terrence Howard in a recently green-lit Steve Shor produced Columbia Pictures film.
