Just bought these CHP bikes to be surf racks for my new Scott Anderson board.
This is what we do until 5 am on the weekend for fun. We drove it the first time in 30 years or so down to the neighborhood Friendly Mart and bought ice cream through the friendly bulletproof glass. Times have changed in Hawthorne since the Beach Boys, but the car is the same. 1940 Ford Deluxe Convertible. chopped, channeled, decked, nosed, Harman Collins distributor, duel Fenton intake with 94s, Offy heads,...untouched since back in the day

Classic Car, Hot Rod Shop, and Dealership looking for the right person (South Bay) to ApprenticeReply to: [email protected] with subject APPRENTICE APPRENTICE APPRENTICEFOR YOUR INFO:Our lead mechanic and fabricator started at the shop as an unpaid apprentice not knowing much and has earned and worked himself into a great position. Our sales manager also started as an unpaid apprentice.I started as an unpaid apprentice 20 years ago.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:I am looking for someone to join the team on a long term basis. You are in school / apprentice for 6 months. Instead of spending tons of money at whyotech, you learn hands on in a real shop. No tuition fees but your sweat. Over time I will teach you metal working, fabrication, electrical, body and paint, mechanical etc... There will be a curriculum with studying outside of the shop and we will quiz you at the lunch table every day on what you learned that night reading the section of a shop repair manual that was assigned to you. I am looking for serious dedicated people I can pass my knowledge to, that will make a professional career at Sakowski Motors. This is an old world old school apprenticeship. So if you know anyone that might fit the bill, let them know.A person with exceptionally high character, motivation, and aptitude who want to learn and is willing and able to do what it takes. Where you end up is up to you, but it doesn' t happen in months, but years. This is an unpaid apprenticeship that may lead to a paid position. The work: clean toilets, mop floors, clean parts, run errands, wash and detail cars, maybe help with listing and finding cars online. Get very dirty, greasy, frustrated, and work for peanuts. In actuality, you would start as an unpaid clean up guy, and if you earn it we will promote you to an unpaid apprentice position where we will invest a lot of our time ($) into training you.VISIT WWW.SAKOWSKIMOTORS.COM First to get an idea of what we do, and what kind of shop we are. You must be a nice positive person who has many many people we can talk to so we can verify your skills, background, and character. No drug use or alcohol problems at all. We are a nice small family oriented business, if you like being a part of something like that, this could be for you. We are a very positive fun shop. We love coming to the shop, and we would still come even if we won the lottery, just take longer vacations. We love what we do, build, and learn. This is not just a job, but a way of life for us. We are not cool.*Email interest to [email protected]. **Do not stop by without an appointment. In your email use the subject APPRENTICE APPRENTICE APPRENTICEThanks for your interest Wil Sakowski Sakowski Motors

My Interests

Bonneville Race Team: Rod Riders SCTA
My shop Sakowski Motors. Surfing 3 times a week at the Venice Breakwater, El Porto, The Cove, and Sunset; Seiou Kai Karate and boxing, building hot rods and motorcycles at my shop, looking for cool cars and bikes to buy. Riding motorcycles, cruising, trips in hot rods. Going for a sail on someone else's boat. I want to sail to Hawaii this year and get an anchor tattooed on my forearm when I get there. ******************************************March 9, 2006 - I had a whale surface about 20 feet from me at El Porto this morning while surfing. There were also about 50 dophins almost within reach. The whale was really a life changing / moving event. Very overwhelming. One of the coolest things I have experienced.
Summer 2006: Surfed over school of leopard sharks. Saw a 15 foot at least great white at Sunset in Malibu. Kept surfing both times. The leopard sharks are not usually aggressive, unless you fall on them maybee...
December 22, 2005 - Sakowski Motors was on ESPN2 show "The Truck Stop". RECENT FUN 10/17/05 -We recently took our 1973 Winnebago from LA to Monterey. I didn't get eaten by any Great Whites surfing at Asylimar (there haven't been any fatal attacks there in some years a local assured me) or in San Simeon (just around the point from washed up sea lion carcasses), though a mountain lion did come into the campsite in San Simeon and the people in tents had to get into their cars for a while. Had to replace the starter in Big Sur. She has a warmed over 440 big block, so I can pass suprised cars going up the mountains.

I'd like to meet:

I AM ONLY ADDING "FRIENDS" WHO REPRESENT WHAT SAKOWSKI MOTORS IS ALL ABOUT, I AM TRYING TO KEEP IT UNDER 300, ANY ONE IS VERY WELCOME TO JOIN THE "SAKOWSKI MOTORS HOT ROD CLUB" IN MY GROUPS SECTION if you dig what we are all about. Old friends, anyone interested in what Sakowski Motors does. * If you are rude, crude, vulgar, or offensive (without good cause) you will not be added. There is too much of that in this world already to try to pass it off as cool. Also strippers and stripper pics, pics of people flicking the bird, are all too boring and lame to accept.

EMPLOYMENT: Sakowski Motors is always looking for the right person to join the team. Part Time or Full Time. Help us find some great old cars to buy or consign for people, apprentice: clean shop, cars, etc..., Fabricator, Mechanic, detailer, etc... You must have a list on people a mile long that will vouch for your character and skills. That's the tough part.I am looking for all different types of people for different positions but right now a could really use someone to help me: detail cars for sale, list them on the internet for sale, help with the paperwork, and help look for cars online and in person I am interested in buying. You really don't need professional experience for this job, just a love of classics and a decent knowledge of cars. A great job for a classic car enthusiast that like getting dirty and hands on as well as working on the computer. You must be enjoyable to be around. In the shop we build, repair and customize classic, hot rods, and customs. We always have small and large projects going. We also do traditional rods.VISIT WWW.SAKOWSKIMOTORS.COM First to get an idea of what we do, and what kind of shop we are. I would really rather have a hobbyist that we can train to do things the right way, then a pro that knows it all and messes the jobs up doing things his way. To tell the truth, I would hire almost any decent, honest, hardworking person that was willing to pay their dues.
