Profile GeneratorLead singer and guitarist Jordan Goetz moved from Bakersfield to Santa Barbara in the Fall of 2002 with his original drummer in order pursue his love for music. Leaving behind high school project Gizmo, the two put together a new lineup, including bass player Matt Navarro of the band Standing Still, and My Life Story was born.
In just a few months of playing together, My Life Story's sound and powerful live performances steadily gained a reputation among the local music scene in Santa Barbara.
After a few lineup changes in the Spring of 2004, with the addition of guitarist Sam Oakley and drummer Chris Shepard from fellow punk band Alcohol By Volume, My Life Story was set and ready for the next step.
Before long they had played at such prestigious venues as the Whisky a Go-Go, The Troubadour, The Gig, The Joint, The Dragonfly, Velvet Jones, The Coach House and Majestic Ventura Theater.
In March of 2005 My Life Story won the Spring Addiction invitational, earning them a spot on the main stage alongside the Violent Femmes, Sugarcult and the RX Bandits and in June were granted a slot on the Ernie Ball stage at Warped Tour.
Upon seeing My Life Storys energetic stage show at the Velvet Jones in Santa Barbara, respected producer Nick Rucker (Yellowcard, Rock Kills Kid, Brightlife) offered to record a four song EP for them at his studio in Ojai. An EP that has since been named the Hoping For The Best EP.
With a solid recording under their belt and extensive live experience, My Life Story are in the planning stages of an extended tour this spring, and plan on recording their full length in fall of 2006.
Meanwhile, the band is poised to bring its powerful stage show and sound, which is not far removed from such bands as Taking Back Sunday, Fall Out Boy, The Used and The Starting Line, to as many new fans as possible.
