I am here for Friends

About Me

Two speeds: Very Fast and Stop. Which will today be?

My Interests

hiking reading snowboarding diving free-diving climbing travel cooking

I'd like to meet:

Any who would rather throw a ball or a frisbee in a park than sit inside and throw hate upon their own shores, who would go watch or sing some music rather than see a show about people doing that on TV. There is a parallel universe where people have intelligent discourse with out undermining eachother. I would love to live there, if only they would have me.(oh, and anyone who'll say hello in message form before requesting to be a friend - is that so much to ask? Even the porn sites do that.)

Music:

Today it's been Wilco, Elvis, Iron and Wine, Calexico, the kinks, the shins, Marvin Gaye, Thievery corporation, Nick Drake, Dylan, the beta band, the arcade fire, Tori, Ani, Cake, G Love, Squirrel Nut Zippers, and a bit of Sinatra.

Movies:

Most of them... I won't insult everyone by listing the standards from the holy trilogy (both of them now) to roman holiday to saving private ryan.... hmmnn contact, amelie, lawerence of arabia and the new cliche fave, garden state

Television:

I havent owned one in awhile but I do love six feet under, the shield, west wing and the old ER just what I have seen on DVD. Recently caught some 'House' which seems like a great show. Korean game shows are bewildering and watching should not be attempted while not under the influence of alcohol.

Books:

Currently: a harry potter book, art beer and philosophy, being good, some chomsky, Fury, and yertle the turtle - perhaps the finest book ever written on the subject of turtle stacking.

Tabula Rasa

I'm not proud of it, but neither am I ashamed: I've joined the Ipod Army. I'm regularly amazed to browse through an Ipod library to find the owner has nothing that came out before their birth or else ...

After so much time away and being away at some pretty great places I can honestly say that Miami is one of the most beautiful and cosmopolitan cities in the world. It is also one of the biggest cluste...

Another day, another bottle

The trouble with Valentine's Day is that it only offers single people one opportunity a year to be really pissed off about their lot. Somebody should do something about it! Somebody has! Korea has a b...
