A little history about myself ........ I started playing piano when I was around 10 or so ..... I never took a lesson in my life which thinking back ... I really wish I would have ..... My first band was formed in 1965 and we were the garage band kings ..... I then joined a band called Damian in the mid 70’s and we would gig at outdoor festivals, bowling alleys and corner bars...... Don't laugh, my first bowling alley gig was opening up for Twisted Sister at the Eclipse Alleys on rt 17 in Hasbrook Heights ....I used to use a fake ID to get to in to play at the bar gigs...... After several years of that I some how moved from onstage to backstage and I started as a stagehand….First with a bunch of heavy metal bands…..Jasper,... Swift Kick,.... TT Quick,... White Tiger and eventually ended up at The Capitol Theater in Passaic NJ ..... After that I just started working for the local 642 IATSE and then started doing arena and stadium shows as a lighting tech or stagehand for such greats as The Rolling Stones, Stevie Ray, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, Allman Brothers, The Dead and even once with Cher.... and the list goes on ..... I dug the lighting so I started doing lights for club bands when i wasn't doing the big stuff....First, Ricochet. Then The Nines, Backstreets and The Fabulous Grease Band ...... In between all the concert calls and club bands I would always find time to play or jam with my friends and keep my chops up to par ..... I eventually dropped out of the stagehand thing and got a gig as an electrician for BML Stage Lighting at the NJ Convention Center, Left there in 06' ..... Now I work as an electricians apprentice for Stage Light Electric out of Bernardsville NJ owned by Bill Hagen .. Who BTW is our sound engineer for Lenny's Night Out ........ Now I'm old and I'm broken….. but man, could I tell you some stories....Ask me sometime...I love to relive those times through story telling.....It was a gas.
Country, Blues, Rock n Roll, Regge, Jazz, R&B, Funk, Island, Rockabilly, Swing, Ragtime,
Anything with De Niro, Nicholson, Pesci, Pacino.....I like great comedy..... Belushi, Farley, Carey.....I do not like feeble attempts to "cover" such talent.
Garbage....total garbage.... do you belive all the crap that they're selling.....And the sad thing is we're buying it..GO out and see a band instead of sitting home and watching "Am I smarter than a 5th Grader" you'll thank yourself.
I used to read a lot of Steven King for some reason.....Now I'm more intrigued by history and mystery.
I've met some really awesome people through out my life.....I'd have to first off give my Mom and Dad the top position in the hero department.......My girl friend Marcy is truly an amazing human being.... though I'm sure she will make a face when she reads this.....And my children....I don't know if you can say "hero" but through out their sort time here on earth they have had to endure what unfortunately so many kids these days have to endure and that's growing up wtih out both parents in the house....I've been blessed with 4 of the finest boys a father could hope for.... They have so far proven to be strong, kind, caring human beings.....May god continue to bless their little souls.
