Finding inspiration in all sound, especially Jazz, Rock, Funk and Electronic music, the members of Savitri strive to stretch their limits, keeping them fresh and open to new ideas both in the studio and live. In their years of live performance experience at parties, weddings, bars and clubs, Savitri has learned the importance of playing with the energy of the crowd. Its not uncommon to see the group dancing as hard onstage as anyone in the audience, and their love of playing is always clear in the emotion they express through their dynamic live shows. Since fall 2001, Savitri has built upon their foundation as music students at the University of Oregon to find a unique and evolutionary path in music; the members have since graduated from the halls of the music school and on to the professional scene.Their catalog includes extensive home, demo and live recordings, as well as their first album, "The Search," released on June 4th, 2005.
Savitri aspires to one day be as good as The Quick and Easy Boys on a bad night.
