About Me

From Brooklyn to Sf is Kush's 3rd release which features dancehall and dread bass vocalists from across the U.S. Pushed into a new zone of Indian and reggae riddim that ended up in a punjabi warzone. This time around, he has focused his attention to dread bass and bashment vocalists from around the country who have been pushing the envelope of the riddims they sing on.. It's a thick sludge of twisted digital dancehall singles, and an assortment of punjabi, grime, and dubstep influences to make a fiery and more seething, song based follow up to twisted indian release, “Bhang Ragga” from 2006. It features: JUAKALI(Dub WAR NYC), ZULU(perception 20/20, Aceyalone and Kool Keith, DJ C collabs), N4SA(Jamaica Natural), Gurmeet, Blacksmith, Process Rebel, Maneesh the Twister, and Lukeino- three dub tracksBorn and Raised in the Bay Area, Kush grew up as a drummer and electronic music lover and creator in the active experimental, punk and electronic scene taking part in various groups and record labels, playing alongside folks like BIg City Orchestra, Blevin Blechdum, Wobbly, and being a core member of RecordLabelRecords : Fluorescent Grey, and the Great White Hype. ALl the while, the love for dancehall/dub and the culture punjabi music grew and focus was directed to this. In 2004 "Underwater Jihad" was released, unleashing the style of warped punjabi and reggae styles into a noisey blend. After this, Kush Arora productions was formed and a stirng of releases follows featuring unusual and wild vocalists such as N4SA from JA and Sukh Sing on punjabi vocals alongside a host of talented tabla players and strings from around the globe. Kush has shared the stage with people from Thievery Corporation, Dr. Isreal, Bonobo, Sub Swara, Dhamaal Soundsystem, Mochipet, and tons of other underground San Francisco artists.
