Susan Bailey is a Catholic singer, songwriter, guitarist and recording artist whose songs are characterized by both mainstream pop and a soothing acoustic style, accompanied by heartfelt and thought-provoking lyrics. Susan has been performing her songs of hope and inspiration, a direct expression of her Catholic faith, for more than ten years. Susan's special brand of music will surely encourage you in your life and draw you closer to our Lord.
Of her music, Susan say, "I count Linda Ronstadt, Joni Mitchell, the Beatles, Amy Grant, Karen Carpenter and John Michael Talbot among my influences. Ive been told that my music is peaceful and has a healing influence. My mission is to encourage, inspire and uplift Catholics in their faith, especially those who work so hard behind the scenes to bring the faith to others. I also feel I have been called to minister to the dying and to those in mourning."
Susan has written scores of songs, performing them at parishes and coffeehouses throughout MA and the Northeast. She has performed at the Annual Celebration of Life Mass of Little Audrey Santo at the College of the Holy Cross Stadium in Worcester, MA, the Gather Us In Womens Conference for the Diocese of Worcester in 2002 and 2005, and World Youth Day 2002 in Toronto. She recently taped an episode of Backstage to be broadcast on EWTN in the fall of 2005, and will be taping two programs of In His Love with Marty Rotilla this August for the Catholic Familyland television network.
Susan is also an experienced praise and worship leader, having worked for several years with the Worcester, MA Diocese Charismatic Renewal team.
A longtime devotion to the Blessed Mother has characterized, guided and shaped the nature of Susans music, filling it with a special peace, hope and joy. Susan regularly provides music for Marian cenacles of prayer. She also composed and shared a musical version of the rosary with Marian Solidarity groups.
An accomplished liturgical musician known for her appropriate and thoughtful choices of music, Susan has ministered in song for over ten years at St. Luke the Evangelist Parish in Westborough. She has also served as a soloist at numerous weddings, funerals, retreats and prayer meetings.
Susan has three full length CDs entitled Teach Me To Love and Wait With Me: Advent Of The Promised Son, produced by veteran NY producer Ron Zabrocki; and Mater Dei (a collection of new and classic Marian songs). Visit Susans website at www.susanbailey.net to listen to song samples.
