Ori Shochat is a producer/MC/DJ/radio DJ in Tel Aviv. He is one of the founders of the hip hop scene in Israel. From organizing the first hip hop events ever in Israel called "Leil Hishguzim" back in 2000, to being a member in THE OPENIN 4 group,DJing in clubs, did the warm up dj set for DE LA SOUL as well for 50 CENT and G-UNIT and hosts and djs on the 102FM Tel Aviv radio with DJ ALARM to producing almost everyone around (jewish and arab).
He began Djing in parties in a bombshelter in his hometown Rosh Pinna at the age of 12. at the age of 20 moved to Tel Aviv and a year later (2000) started his own hip hop party line in the legendery club Dinamo Dvash on tuesdays. he was also a resident Dj on the Gat Rimon club in Tel Aviv and in the Luna in Haifa. Nowdays he's the resident Dj in the Barzilay Club and in Layla club.
Over the years he was a show Dj for several acts including Subliminal and Booyaka, nowdays with Dani Din and Shorty.
Recently Ori took 1st place in the "best hip hop dj in Israel" contest that took place at the G-Spot Club. This June he took 1st place in the "best hip hop dj" in VOICE CLUB in Herzeliya,
so he's THE BEST HIP HOP DJ IN ISRAEL 2007
His production credits includes local acts such as FISHI, QUAMI, KASHI, KELE 6, 3 LAROSH, HAAKRAV,DANI DIN,PORTRAIT,DAM,NEIGEL ADDMORE, SHI LAHAV, LIBRA, AMSTAF, SAGOL 59, MOMY LEVY and of course SUBLIMINAL (which his album with Ori's production for the leading single reached PLATINUM in Israel).
He also did production for the reality tv series "The Laugh Academy" and recently was a music adviser for the hit-tv series "Mesudarim"
As an MC Ori was a part of the-now-no-longer-active THE OPENIN 4 - who also appeared on the international album "speaking in tongues"(STONEGROOVE RECORDINGS 2000) on the Booyaka song (which represented Israel). THE OPENIN 4 also did a guest appearence on the GOLD selling debut album by HADAG NAHASH group.
Ori is also working on his first solo album as an MC. He produced the entire album by himself and has guest appearences with Kashi and Quami.
These days he is working on COHEN@MUSHONs debut album. Cohen@Mushon are a 3 men crew that sounds like A Tribe Called Quest - or others from the Native Tongue movement.
