I'm interested in anything for a minute or two, but here's a short list of things that make me smile, in no particular order (cuz who could possibly put such wonderful things in order): pointy-toed stilettos, things that sparkle, my boys (the fuzzy, and the non-fuzzy ), Mitch Hedberg, Darkhorse wings, mascara, holidays, traveling, learning new things, theme parties, champagne, good music, the Mort Brothers, Jeckel and Hyde's, Revlon ColorStay Overtime lip color, The Outer Banks, Guitar Hero, scary movies, good food, boys who buy me drinks, 4am wake-ups, playing darts, Victorias Secret very sexy bras, thigh-high nylons, talking animals, Penn State football, spell checker, jokes I can remember, my crew , a sunny day in October, a foot of snow on Christmas morning, Adidas cologne, Teen Girl Squad! , Pittsburgh hockey, Rome, and million dollar parties.
Anyone with more tattoos than places to put them, old friends that I've lost touch with, great bands, people who can make me laugh, anyone who knows anyone who knows that guy that does casting for soap operas... ;-)
Anything with horns, a fast beat, or a standup bass will get my toes tapping. I've never met a ska band I didn't like, a punk band I didn't want to be in, or a Rockabilly band I wouldn’t take home to mom.My favorite mainstream bands would have to be The Mighty Mighty Bostones and The Reverend Horton Heat. I also have a very soft spot for the Beastie Boys...but who doesn't?. As for the other stuff I listen to, gotta love The Pietasters, Mustard Plug, and The Peacocks. And there's the always-in-rotation group: The Toasters, The Planet Smashers, Marah, Bim Ska La Bim, The Dead Milkmen, Save Ferris, They Might Be Giants, Less Than Jake, The Dancehall Crashers. But again, give me some brass or a big slap bass, and I'm sure to like it.
I'm a horror movie fan. Give me a dark room...a boy to hold onto...and a scary soundtrack, and I'm in heaven. Even the cheesy ones make my netflix list. One restriction...NO ZOMBIES! Even funny zombie movies (Shaun of the Dead) totally freak me out. It's sad really..I also love big budget action films, a good comedy, the classics. Basically I'll watch anything, especially if I'm at the theatre with a huge drink and even bigger tub of popcorn.
Cartoons for Grown-up (or those of us who's years keep us from being children, but who's maturity level doesn't). The Family Guy, The Simpsons, Little Bush, Futurama, South Park. I love them all. I'm also terrible addicted to the CBS Daytime lineup and CSI Las Vegas. As much as I hate to admit it, I can also be very quickly drawn into reality TV, so I try not to watch it. Flavor of Love got me last year and I hated / loved every minute of it!
I just started a new reading kick, reading all of the stuff I should have read in school, if my school wasn't Brockway Area Jr/Sr high... Loved Frankenstein, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and The Wizard of Oz. I change it up occasionally with some mystery, thriller stuff. So far, so good, but we'll see how long it lasts.
I'm a GenX brat...I have no heroes (except for maybe the guy that invented the spell checker...and Santa) ;-)Seriously though, anyone serving our country here and oversees rates pretty high up there in my book!
