About Me

To explain the band, who is in the band and how the music came to be is an arduous task at best. To describe in all fairness what we do as a band should perhaps be described by someone on the outside looking in. But in order to come to an understanding we thought it best to try and explain where we are coming from when we approach music. To bring one up to date as to how things have progressed and formed into what you see and hear now as the band Sing that Yell that Spell, one must first understand the time and effort invested by not only the present musicians and fans, but the efforts invested by others in the past. The sound and energy eminating from us now has been planted and nurtured through more than a decade of dedication and interest in an evolving sound. Over these years as separate musicians and being involved together in a scene that we genuinely cared for, bands were formed and bands dis-banded. But the love to create and carry on the momentum of that scene has lead directly to the three piece band that is STYTS.

Throughout our individual and combined efforts as musicians, we were able to come to a quick and comfortable understanding that the music we created is, at the very least, from the heart.. By not adding restrictions pertaining to certain styles or time signatures, we have created a sound that can not only be heard but felt. If at times our personalities or moods clash, we at least know that without words we can communicate through our music. By that we convey an energy for spectators that may not be understood right away, but has potential to grow on them. Whether it be an angry, sad, drunken fueled set or jam, we three can all agree to disagree. It makes for an always changing and refreshing progression into other styles and moods. We try to stay real with each other as well as the people who see our potential and want to be a part of the experience. To help it grow we look forward to continuing to bring change and invite other influences into our musical outlet.
