I've been singing for as long as I can remember, I guess I was always going to sing because both my mum and dad could sing, so some of that must have rubbed off! How cool to be able to make a living doing the thing you most love (apart from my wife that is)!I always sang in the school musicals and was always cast as a girl (which will come as no surprise to many of you), I then went on to high school, kept on singing in the musicals and then went on to Uni where I studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music for a Bachelor of Music degree majoring in voice. Between school and uni I was fortunate enough to receive a choral scholarship to Tewkesbury Abbey in England. This was the first time I had really been away from home and was one of the greatest experiences of my life; it really started my love for England.I came back from England, did my degree, started a few bands the first called........Flying Smegma! Yes really, and the second band which is still going strong...... BIGPHALLICA www.bigphallica.com . It was during this period I met one of the most influential people to me musically - Russell Finch. I met Russell with my best mate Damian when Dubbo (as he is effectionately known) and I had a duo with another tragic name......Born Naked! We got signed to Melodian Records but really didn't have our shit together so that all fizzled out, but, I got an incredible insight into the rock/pop world and production/session land. I did a lot of sessions for Russell and more people heard me and I started to work in other studios, with other producers. It was during this time I met the other most influential person to my career - Peter Northcote. If it weren't for Pete saying to producers "Mate you've gotta get Brydon, he can sing anything and sound like anything" I don't think I would have had the opportunities I have.So thats about it, I'm doing what I love to do and getting paid to do it!
