Luke is a young up and coming drummer originally from Sydney Australia, now living in Nashville Tn. Luke has spent the last 18 months travelling across Australia, USA and Europe playing drums for several different Singer/Songwriters (see bio above) Whilst in New York last year Luke also took some time to Study with some of his favorite drummers inculding Bernard Purdie (Worlds most recorded drummer) and Jazz Legend Joe Morello (Dave Brubeck)
Up and coming Sydney based drummer Luke Herbert was born on August 14,1982.Luke has been involved in music since he began studying piano at the age of 7. At 12, he began playing drums and percussion, joining school rock, jazz and concert bands .This was the start of Lukes diverse musical upbringing.Luke then went on to complete his high school degree (HSC) receiving top 10% in the state for music.
Since then Luke has become highly involved in music education, tutoring Drums, Percussion ensembles and Marching Drum Lines at over 10 high schools and primary schools around Sydney. In 2000 Luke became one of the musicians selected worldwide for the WORLDS LARGEST MARCHING BAND the 2000 Olympic Marching Band, which included performing at the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony to 110,000 people and 4 billion people worldwide on Television.
Some of Lukes early carrer Highlight venues are Entertainment Centre (Sydney & Wollongong), Stadium Australia and inside the Opera House and also on top of the Opera house for a world first Rugy Union Final brodcasted on channel 7 in 2003.
