Tania Schilinski

VOCALISTA, COMPOSITORA, ARREGLISTA
Comienza su carrera como cantante en Valencia en los años 90, donde rápidamente se da a conocer en la escena musical compartiendo escenario con algunos de los músicos más prestigiosos del país. Participa en diversos festivales de la Comunidad Valenciana interpretando jazz, música brasileña y latina.
En el año 2000 se muda a Nueva York y un año más tarde recibe una beca para estudiar interpretación y composición en la Berklee College of Music de Boston, licenciandose magna cum laude en 2004. Durante sus 6 años de estancia en EEUU vive entre Boston y New York, lidera el grupo de world music Tania Schilinski Sextet, actúa como solista de gospel en la Lutheran Resurrection Church y escribe composiciones para la galería de arte Space Other de Boston.
Actualmente vive en Barcelona, es uno de los miembros fundadores la formación de Latin jazz Malumaluga, profesora de canto del L’Aula del Conservatori del Liceu y directora de la coral de gospel Tritò.
Su música y su voz reflejan los matices y sonidos de todas sus vivencias mutliculturales, moviendose con fluidez entre diferentes estilos e idiomas.

Born in Madrid, she starts her singing career in Valencia in the 90ties, quickly gaining popularity in the national music scene by sharing stage with some of the most renown Spanish musicians, singing Jazz, Latin and Brazilian music. In the year 2000 she moves to NYC and a year later she is granted a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, graduating magna cum laude in 2004. During her 6 year stay in the US, living between Boston and New York, she leads the Tania Schilinski Sextet, appears as gospel soloist at Lutheran Resurrection Church of Roxbury and writes compositions for the art gallery Space Other of Boston.
She currently lives in Barcelona where she co-directs the Latin and World music group Malumaluga. She teaches at L’Aula del Conservatori del Liceu and directs the gospel choir at Escola de Música Tritó.
Her voice and music speak of her multicultural upbringing and experiences, moving smoothly between different styles and languages.
