About Me

I'm originaly from Boston, MA, but I been a Cali girl for quite some time now(bout 14yrs). I been Producing and making music for about 3 years, but I been singin all my life. You can pick up a copy of HomeGrown, my first project, pretty much anywhere indie music is sold and specificaly at www.cdbaby.com/wendisue. HomeGrown stands for the fact that I made the whole thing at home :) I literaly acoustic foamed up a closet and recorded all my vocals in there. Technology is amazing these days!!! My brother, E3, who is a dope producer/singer, is the other producer on the project. Look out for his album this fall. I been gigging around L.A. for about a year now with both a full band and an acoustic set and I'm lovin it for real. It's a dream come true to be able to share the music with a live audience. Nothin like it. I'm lookin forward to getting back into the studio and workin on some new music very soon. In the meen time, I hope you enjoy what I've put out there so far. My Interests

Music:

Band Website: wendisue.com
Band Members: It's a solo project, but some of the players I've had in the past are...EricB on guitar, Vince Fossett on drums, Helgi Hanneson on keys, Corey Hubbard on keys, Simon Huber on bass, Derek Hort on bass, Maya Sykes on vox, Patrick Sheilds on Vox, Natalie Ganther on vox, Nicole Ganther or vox. More to come for sure... :)
Influences: Oh, where to begin! I guess I'll start with MY beginning. My Dad is a musical genius. The way he hears music and translates it from his body to an audience is beautiful and amazing to me. Theres nothing like laying under a grand piano and listening to him pour out his soul in song. His name is Ellis Hall and he's most known for singing leads with Tower of Power back in the late 80's. I WISH I could've been alive to hear Donny Hathaway play live. His voice is like velvet to my insides. Man, Stevie Wonder and James Taylor who's lyrics are both incredible. Chakah Khan, Ella Fitzgerald(I used to listen to her tape every morning on my way to high school, her and Donny and Aretha franklin) Recently I've been put on to Femi and Fela Kuti and Mandrill. Also, I started listnin to Hip Hop more in college(my best friend is a huge hiphop head so that was added to the morning repetoire of music alongside my fav's) In the new school I love Lauryn Hill, D'Angelo, Jill, ooh and I just got put on to Betty Davis(Miles ex-wife). The list could continue, but those are the most influential
