About Me

Spoken word is a form of literary art or artistic performance in which lyrics, poetry, or stories are spoken rather than sung. (Definition provided by Wikipedia)
For those of you that have not realized this quite yet, Tucson, this city we hate to love, is undergoing some major changes. Many have chosen to refer to these changes as the TUC-town movement created based on the simple phrase "There ain't shit to do in Tucson".
That perception of Tucson is well on its way to being changed to, "Damn, so much to do so little time to do it in". This journey through this incredible movement has brought many events to the area. From Soul Renaissance, to the Screening of "Turn of Channel Zero", to the renewed spirit for Tucson underground hip hop scene, to the re-estiablishment of First Fridays Tucson, this city is well on its way to being the place to be.
Tucson Premiere Open Mic formly known to many as being part of SpEkonit Entertainment strives to create a venue which supports the need to be heard. These open mic sessions started back in July 2007 and has created an avenue for artists to finally get their time to shine. So if you write, sing or just simply do the damn do in any shape or form, join us every last Saturday of the month!
