I am here for Friends

About Me

Contrary to my headline, I'm not a pessismist, just a born realist. Sometimes, though, it takes a little rain to make us realize and appreciate the "good" things in our lives. Some of us thrive on more rain than others. I suppose if there's no rain, I start feeling a little edgy, knowing that storm clouds are ultimately coming, and I begin listening for the thunder. I think my friends would say I'm generally laid back. It takes a great deal to rattle me in any given situation. I guess that whole, "the storm is gonna come, you just gotta weather it, and move on" mentality allows my calm. I have attempted to adapt more of a live for the moment, not waiting for the other shoe to drop mentality; although I have made strides, I sometimes slip. I can be alternately serious bordering on reserved to surprisingly lighthearted, introspective to outright goofy. Kids bring out the goofy in me. I love kids especially my two nephews, my niece, and my multiple official and unofficial godchildren/antigodchildren depending on the parents - I have a few agnostic and or atheist friends. I am a chameleon. I find it easy to slip into any social situation, and am adept at finding common ground with anyone - if I'm in the mood. Sometimes I just like to sit back and observe. Human behavior is often fascinating, even in the most typical of circumstances. I also like to talk alot - can you tell? I find humor in anything, and enjoy making people laugh. I've often been told I've missed my calling - Comedienne. Oh one other thing, one of my friends considers a tragic flaw. I must confess to being a Lord of the Rings geek. Like any self-respecting LOTR geek, I have read the trilogy, not to mention the Hobbit, several times over. I own all three extended editions of the film, and as proof of my true LOTR geekdom,I bear Arwen's Evenstar in vivid blue ink on my back, almost backside. Pictures of that, and my other tattoo to come. Well enough about me. Who else is out there?
