Above you will find songs that I have wriiten in a few of my past bands. Epitome, Hyterica Passio and remi-Music for Films
Founded in the mid 70's by Raymond Vecsey & keith Amo(rip), epitome was considered to be the "founding fathers" of the punk/new wave movement in CT. Getting started was not easy! Getting doors slammed in our faces just made us more determined. Eventually we managed to talk bar & club owners into showcasing our type of music and we led the way for many other local bands helping them as well as ourselves get bookings. Sure there were fights and bomb threats but I guess it went with the territory. "Punk" was a 4 letter word back then. One of out shortest gigs was Pinecrest Country Club in Shelton. I think we made it through 2 songs before my guitar was hit with one of those big fucking glass ash trays and that led to a riot. We played just about anywhere we could cram ourselves into. From the Port Jefferson ferry to Toads Place & of course the NY favorites Max's & CBGB's. One of our career highlights was opening for the English band "magazine" headed by Howard Devoto and Guitarist John McGeoch also of Siouxsie & the Banshees fame. We released one 3 song EP in 1978 called "epitome ep" which still manages to get airplay(more now then before!). At the end of the 70's, part of the band moved to New York City and reformed for a short while before moving on to other prodjects. The band reunited without keith(rip) in 2005 at a party for the release of a compilation cd put out by Incas Records featuring the bands from the Ct. underground music scene. Epitome was the surprise guest band.
