First off- May God Bless our warriors deployed in our defense and bring their families comfort!

:::I was a soldier, plain and simple; I no longer will discuss or engage in dialogue about it. I am NO hero and never was, it was all merely a job--truly. I've been with good men and faced down the bad, I have been to many places, mostly ugly. I have many friends or should I say brothers that I served with and loved more than family. I miss them...
The heroes (I've known a few) are the guys and gals that are on their second and third tours (even 4th tours!!)taking daily pot shots or catching a blast from a cowardly IED. Then there are those like Schugart, Gordon, Mitchell, Crandall, Dunham, Rubin, Smith, Murphy, etc.--all M.O.H. recipients and the "unknowns" that are putting it on the line EVERYDAY, as well as the wounded with a Purple Heart pinned to their chest, they are the heroes! That's about the end of that.:::

The following quote is from a Special Forces mentor and dear friend, it was said in the context of: "...this is our predicament men, and it ain't good..." It was, and still is meant to be a reality check, it's not Socrates, it's a Green Beret telling his men--this is life, or, the alternative. It's beautiful in its simplicity. As you can imagine, he was loved for his bravery and his love for his TEAM and his Country, if we only had a million more like him...

"This is 'this,' it's not something else, this is 'THIS.'"

Florida law gives people the right of "self-defense without the duty to retreat." That means individuals can use deadly force virtually anywhere to prevent death or serious injury.

Actors need to keep their liberal belly-aching out of politics, they need to realize they were once upon a time: "court jesters!"

Television:

ESPN, FOX News, Beck, and The O'Reily Factor. I am a History Channel and Military Channel addict.

Books:

I have recently read "Wild At Heart" by Eldridge (for the second time!). A couple of favorite authors are Tom Clancy and Hemingway.

I have also read Army field manuals, and technical manuals (while serving) until my eyes bled!.

I enjoy reading the IBD (Investor's Business Daily) newspaper, which is the only 'main stream' newspaper with a RIGHT slant.

I read the Holy Bible (almost) daily, and the DAILY devotional.

Heroes:

JESUS!

King David from the Bible--He was a man after God's own Heart. When I read Psalms, Samuel or anything about his life I see myself over and over, I couldn't have made a better choice for my namesake.

Our TROOPS!

(Past & Present) Southern Patriots!

My Grandmother for every reason imaginable, for what she endured in her life and smiled all the way through it; and my dear friend Robin, her obstacles were (are) great and she somehow pushed them aside and still loves life with a passion.
SFC R. Taufer and 1st LT. R. Kolenda (my 'Green Beret' mentors) for believing in me, and seeing in me what it took to make it!
All the Honorable Special Forces Members that served with me, before me, and after me in peace or in war.
Our Sailors, Marines, Soldiers, Coasties, and Airmen serving in the war on terrorism! God Bless them all!!

Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.
'In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people .'
Theodore Roosevelt 1907

The pics below: the first is a depiction of the crucifixion of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and the second is an Army ad that represents the finest fighters in the world from which I came from and served honorably with, the US Army Special Forces; don't mess with either and we will be friends, this is a NO HATE site! BTW--I plan on meeting Jesus :) Oh, the German Shepherd...the greatest dogs in the world. I've owned a few, they outclass any other dog, bar none.
