I am definitely a kid at heart, although I am playing grown-up because the calendar says I am one. Plus I have heap big grown-up responsibilities. For instance, I am somebody's mother, which is insane. My spouse is one of the most dynamic and all around wonderful people in the world; I completely lucked out there. He's a goody. I'm sorry but my kid IS the most adorable and delightful child in the whole wide universe. That's just the way that is. Other peoples' kids are cool too; just not as cool as mine ;-).I am fond of pleasurable things yes; people, food, music, places, feelings, pretty things. I love to laugh more than most things in the world, I love to make people laugh (and am told I do so often which I'm proud of) and if you make ME laugh you are so in. I laugh at silly stuff. I laugh by myself in my car and stuff. I talk to myself. Sometimes I talk to myself in front of people and forget I'm not by myself. That goes over well :-/. My whole life my group of friends has resembled the United Nations i.e. I like ehr'body. I'm a night owl. I used to be an Internet-addict until I rediscovered how much more fun REAL life is. I am a women's college graduate (Mills crew what?) and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, the largest black women's organization in the world (oo-oop!). I'm a staunch feminist AND a girlie-girl (who says they have to be mutually-exclusive? It's MY world! Squirrels! :P). I've wanted to be in the music business since I was 13 years old and when I turned 20 I was in it. It's been an interesting career full of madness, instability, cool things and crappy things.I used to drive up Pacific Coast Highway and look at the ocean when I was stressed the hell out, and played india.arie or Dave Matthews Band when I did. Now, I don't get stressed the hell out because I don't want to. I think, breathe, read, meditate and move myself out of bad feelings right into good ones. I guide my feelings and I choose to feel GOOD. Always. Nothing else is more important and when you do that, all else falls into place :).
And I have a "thing" about images/pictures of a happy or smiling sun. I collect them to remind me of the day that I remembered about the joy of life; that we don't always choose to, forget to or feel unable to see. It's there :). (/syrupy sap)
