WINO

The ghost of something is here

About Me

Based in West London, Wino formed at the end of 2003. After recording a rough demo, the more cohesive, aggressive "Innocent Bystander EP" was born late on in '04. This appeared in the 'Top 10 Demos Of The Year' on Channel 4's Planet Sound. Now firmly in the territory of the home recording ethic, Wino touch on hardcore and mix it easily with the more epic tracks like "Traffick".Playing with such bands as The Magic Numbers, The Pistolas, The Spinto Band, Whirlwind Heat and Bikini Atoll has helped hone the lo-fi Wino sound on the journey through venues big and small on London's Unsigned circuit.More Wino on MyMusicStream - The Online Musicians Streaming Music Community

Sounds Like:
"Tender but sufficently rocking, Wino have got a great future ahead of them."
- ANDY MORRIS GQ/MOJO JOURNALIST
"Starting to get established on the London circuit, there's every chance an A&R scout will take a chance on Wino.. mixing the soaring melodies of Doves with the hardcore leanings of Pearl Jam..there is a classic meloncholy married to a fierce, soaring passion- and hugely infectious with it. One of the top ten demos of the year."
- PLANET SOUND, CHANNEL 4
"An upbeat and dark sound, a Thom Yorke styled vocal performance, Muse-esque dynamics..Combining early 90s guitar parts and a new-rock sound highlighting the band's strengths at writing multi-layered music."
- HIGHVOLTAGE.ORG.UK
"The strange breeding ground of The Smiths, grunge and Neil Young."
- BUGBEAR PROMOTIONS
"Its all pensive verses sliding sideways into gorgeously constructed bridges and those soaring choruses that have you looking for the album after just one track. It's brilliant..it is actually perfect..."
