I'm SQUIRT. I am the biggest in our turtle trio. I am a 4 yr. old yellow bellied slider. I came to live here when I was only the size of a quarter. Mommy rescued me from the wrath of a killer chihuahua. I almost became her lunch. I am bad to the bone & spoiled completely rotten. Mommy says she wouldn't have me any other way. Some of my favorite things to do is to bask in the sunshine on a nice hot day, swim in the bath tube with lots of water bubbles & chase shelton & shylow around our tank. Of course I get in trouble for that one but it is ok too. I only do it every now & then. I think I have mommy & daddy trained just right. All I have to do is look into their eyes with my cute little face poked out of the water & follow them around the room in my tank begging for food & they feed me. WORKS EVERY TIME!! I love food!!!
I'm SHYLOW. So named by some of you. Mommy had a poll for the best name for me. It fits me perfectly because I am very shy & like to hang out at the bottom of the tank. I am a 10 yr. old Eastern Mud Turtle. I was rescued by a pet store owner & sent to live here. I am full grown at only 3 1/2 inches long. Mommy has nicknamed me her little "Snorkel" because of my long neck. I will sit at the bottom of the tank & stretch until only my nose is out of the water. I don't move around alot so when I do, mommy knows that I am hungry & feeds me. I like to hide under big rocks & feel safe when I poke my head inside my stump. Not much company for Squirt but it is nice to have someone else around.
And last but not least, I'm SHELTON. I am the baby of the family. I am 1 or 2 yrs. old (give or take). I too am a yellow bellied slider. I came to live here this past summer. I was rescued at an appliance store which in part influenced my name. I was found roaming the dangerous city streets with no water for miles. My shell was damaged by the teeth of a large predator. Unknown as to what but it pierced both sides of my tiny shell. Mommy was called to come & get me so that I could live with her. I am still learning how things work. Squirt has been a great teacher. At first I didn't even know what to do with my food. But after watching him, I have learned all about it & just how to get it. I am a spunky little fella that loves to follow Squirt around the tank. I especially like to ride on his back. I hope he doesn't mind.
