About Me
SIMONE TAYLOR BIOGRAPHY
I think its my job as an artist to inspire people. I am documenting my life and my experiences right now, through my music. I want people to put on my music twenty years from now, and still find relevancy in it. Thats art, and I love it! -Simone Taylor
She has one of the most captivating and powerful voices in music, punctuated with powerful lyrics, and those get-up-out-your seat grooves. Her voice is a sexy, seductive, sincere instrument that draws you in, and makes you wanting more.
In an industry that strives for individuality, Simone Taylor is an individual soul without bounds. Perhaps it stems from her up-bringing in Oakland, California. As a kid I never wanted to be like everyone else. I wanted my own style and personality. Thankfully my parents allowed me to figure out who I was on my own. So if you want to stand out in my family, you have to be pretty spectacular at something.
This poised chanteuse gives music-heads what theyve been yearning for- an uplifting, empowering, voice fresh from the soul. L.A. Weekly says that Simone Taylor is an intriguing new prospective to r & b/pop music. Shes a funky sista with a big voice and an unapologetic sound.
Simone Taylor seamlessly mixes urban r & b music with heart pumping guitar riffs and brilliant strings. Going, Going, Gone, is the first song that truly illustrates the fusion of different music styles. It embodies girl-power and strength in moving forward. With a strong bass line and dramatic string arrangement, this song instantly captured the ears of some of the most respected figures in music today. The song is about finally getting up the courage to leave the one your with and not being scared anymore. Its an empowering song that expresses how its okay to not know where your going, but that youve got two feet to stand on, and thats all that matters. The sultry singer sucks you in on the track Yeah Baby, with its Sly Stone inspired bass-line. This song is such a party song! Its definitely inspired by those house parties you go to, where someone decides to play some classic jams that got you on your feet when you were a kid, doing lord knows what. It takes you back to those happy times when things were really carefree, and you felt the music. When the songs over, you want to spin the record back again, so I had to say that in the hook.
The track, I Belong to You, is a promise, dramatically poised in verse. It delivers an epic journey, while sailing through consciousness of the hard times ahead. She convincingly defines playful love with the track Get it On. Written tongue-and-cheek style, it captures the anticipation of making-love.
Collaborating with well-known music producers Justin Gray (Joss Stone, Faith Hill, Pussycat Dolls), and David Jones (Babyface), Simone has successfully blended a new type of Urban Rock. She wrote or co-wrote every song on her 6-song promotional disc entitled Orders in Progress. Im not one of those inside the box type of artist. I dont think you can categorize my music with one word. I delve into a number of different music genres, so I try not to stay confined to just one. True artistry, tenacity, and hard work have allowed Simone to appear in a number of venues across the country. From Bimbos 365 Club to The Knitting Factory, she has won over audiences and received phenomenal reviews.
