When I was growing up, music was the one thing that saved my life more than anything, or anyone.
I'm not saying that I was that kid that knew all of the details about every band on the planet. Those people annoy me.
But, really, when I had nothing, and when I've had no one, certain songs and artists would seem to lead the way, and help me through anything.
I consider my music nothing more than a tribute to those that have helped me along the way. Artists like Muse, BT, Starsailor, and The Veils.
There is no cover involved, it's more of a tribute to say that, some day I hope I can sing as well as Muse. I hope I can make a scientifically perfect melody like BT. I hope I can show the emotion, and be as raw as Starsailor and The Veils.
More importantly, I hope that I can say, write, or sing something some day that will change someone the same way that songs have changed me.
Anyway...Back to me...
I am highly opinionated when it comes to music, and other musicians.
I don't believe in 'lessons' or being taught how to write.
I don't agree that there is a certain 'formula' to writing a song for the radio. Radio was made for music. Not music for the radio.
I have a serious problem with images. I find them to be pathetic and a way for anyone with any emotion to do nothing more than hide behind a mask.
I hate pop culture. I can honestly say that I have never done anything because it is, or was, popular.
I'm a firm believer in individuality. I think we're all different, and we all need to see that. Being what is accepted is not who you are. I can promise that.
I've always wanted to write political songs, but that seems really popular these days.
Besides, when I tell you about the way our country is fully responsible for September 11th, you wouldn't listen anyway.
Speaking previously about images...
When I was setting this page up, and choosing the 'genre' of music I wanted to be placed under, I noticed something new..."Emotronic".
Are you kidding?
I know that my music is highly emotional, but come on!
The entire "Emo" thing is fucking stupid, in my opinion. How can you classify something for simply being emotional? Does that mean that Elton John can be classified as an "Emo" artist? What about Kenny Loggins?? Can HE be "Emo" too!?
I find it all to be really pathetic.
For now this is all that I can say, but I will add to this very soon.
Thank you for stopping bye. :)
