Music Studios Along the Space-time Continuum (STC)

About Me

This is a chamber group with instrumentalists interested in classical, new-age, and minimalists' music. Over the years, we had both amateur and professional musicians as our members, many of them were music teachers, students, enthusiasts, and even busy performers from major orchestras. This is why we have the name "Journey STC"; we are in a journey through the space-time continuum. Our theme music is "Journey" from a symphonic poem "The Lake." Just before Christmas in 1994, Journey was completed and first performed by an orchestra of over 50 players. If you recognize this music and remember playing in that orchestra, please send us a note. (Hint: The conductor was also an excellent French horn player). We wish to have a virtual reunion through this MySpace website established in 2007. Our journey continues at different places at different times as long as you are current or former members of Journey STC. We perform as soloists, chamber groups, and even orchestras from Sydney to San Antonio, from Baltimore to Budapest. We arrange, compose, and record our performances using natural acoustics optimization techniques. Our goal is to bring us together again online and to play and perform as a group if at least one of our current members is enroute to your place at the right time.
For maintaining this group, we have three core members who frequently perform as a trio with two violins and piano. Hans Young is a violinist and composer with great interests in computing and recording technology, so he is the producer running Journey STC Studios and several projects, including an interesting one called "Cinderella: Around the World in 80 Minutes" for a series of charitable concerts. Wes Lee is a violinist and pianist with much interests in robotics, dreaming about creating a "self-playing" violin and a robotic organizer to keep his office in order. Obviously, with such interests, he is best to be our manager who can keep things organized as a librarian for filing documents and scores. Amy Lane is a pianist and our dedicated accompanist. As a web designer and programmer, she is our coordinator taking care of all website updates, messages, and interactions with friends and colleagues.
Thanks,
Journey STC Studios
