Established and releasing music since the early '90s, thrashers After All are one of the very few Belgian bands that managed to break through the borders of their local scene. Signed to Dockyard 1 in Europe and Locomotive Records in North America, After All are one of Belgium's most active touring bands, having toured with the likes of Anthrax, King Diamond, and Stone Sour, among others. The band's latest tour alongside Agent Steel – also on this year's edition of Graspop – included stops in 14 European countries, where the set was built around the songs of After All's sixth full-length album 'This Violent Decline'.
For the production of 'This Violent Decline', After All enlisted the services of heavy weights Fredrik Nordström (In Flames, Arch Enemy, Dimmu Borgir) and Tue Madsen (Halford, Mnemic). "On 'This Violent Decline', we managed to find the right balance between the melodic approach of 'Mercury Rising' (2003) and the full-speed-ahead thrash metal of 'The Vermin Breed' (2005)," said guitarist Dries Van Damme. "That makes 'This Violent Decline' our most mature album to date, both in musicality and power." German label Killer Metal Records re-released 'This Violent Decline' on limited vinyl, just in time for Graspop.
After experimenting and stylistically evolving on their first couple of albums, After All returned to their thrash roots with the release of 'Mercury Rising' in 2003. The band has refined its mixture of relentless thrash metal and memorable vocal melodies over the course their entire discography: 6 full albums and 5 EP's to date. Over the years, the band permanently toured Europe – from Finland to Greece and every country in between – with bands such as Exodus, Overkill, Candlemass, Destruction, Shadows Fall, Metal Church, Life Of Agony, Voivod, Paradise Lost, Saxon, My Dying Bride, Armored Saint, Jon Oliva's Pain and many, many more.
After All guitarist Dries Van Damme is also known as the host of 'Whiplash', a weekly metal show on national radio Studio Brussel.
After All proudly endorse Adams Drums, Balbex Sticks, Ernie Ball Guitar Strings, In Tune Guitar Picks, Laboga Amplifiers, Ohr & More In-ear Monitors, and Paiste Cymbals.
