Sci-fi, fantasy and horror... I generally won't watch realistic or historical movies - the entire point of movie watching to me is escapism. I want to have a good time not leave a movie depressed. Some of my favorite films include The Fifth Element, From Hell, Shaun of the Dead, Stacy (a japanese zombie schoolgirl flick - highly recommended!), and some shlocky films like Demolition Man and Johnny Mnemonic (in which Henry Rollins has the BEST LINE EVAR).
I just finished the latest Harry Potter book like the huge geek that I am. I'm currently reading "Weaveworld" by Clive Barker.
