About Me

...All I ever wanted to do was something in the arts, whether it was singing, dancing, acting, whatever, I just wanted to perform all the time... And perform Ms. Mone't does.Born as Conesha Mone't Owens, this native of Pittsburg, California, was touched with the gift that only God could provide, the gift to truly move people. Given the talents of all that performing arts can give, including improv and dramatic acting, dance/choreography, topped with a 5 octave vocal range in modern and classical music, it's no wonder why this "gifted" singer-songwriter, arranger, and thespian has been sought after by some of the industry's best, most diverse and accomplished artists and producers. Some include producers Walter Afanasieff, Dr. Dre, David Paich, and Steve Jordan, Johnny Mathis, Smokey Robinson and Toto to name a few.Performing on numerous stages whether in theater productions or touring with some of today's platinum selling artists such as Boz Scaggs, Raphael Saadiq, and Teena Marie, Mone't continues to shine while being a featured vocalist for the "Dancing With The Stars" 2006 winter tour, the heart-warming duet "Labled as Love" with phenomenal vocalist/musician Frank McComb on the Frank McComb Live in Atlanta CD/DVD, music greats, Johnny Mathis on his highly anticipated 2008 release, and Soloman Burke while keeping the fire going as a backing vocalist for Faith Hill and Tim McGraw on their sell out Soul 2 Soul tour 2007. Mone't continues to develop her already "polished" skills thoroughly in the hands of the business. Whether she's performing R&B and Rock or singing Jazz standards, and Gospel hymns, it's in the performance where she's most justifiable.Mone't has accomplished over 90 "sold-out" shows in Japan at the famous "Blue Note" jazz clubs, soul stirring performances at the 25th Annual Playboy Jazz Festival, in Los Angeles, the North Sea and Montreux Jazz festivals in Europe as well as a historic 8 show "sell-out" at the hip "Joe's Pub", in New York and standing room only shows at the popular "Bourbon Street" club in Sao Paulo, Brazil. And it doesn't stop there, by gaining "Grammy" certification from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences for her backing vocals on the 1998 "Song of the Year" "My Heart Will Go On", recorded by Celine Dion, recognition for her vocal and songwriting arrangements on the 2000 certified gold album "Lucy Pearl" by the now defunct super group Lucy Pearl, or vocal scoring for the blockbuster film "Cradle to the Grave" starring hip-hop star DMX and martial arts master Jet Li...I am so excited about all that's needed to be seen and heard by the world. I say WORLD because my vision is abundant yet personal. Being able to express this to masses of people is a feeling I just can not wait to experience... REAL MUSIC IS IN TRANSITION! And Mone't is right, with a fan base that's worldwide and continually growing; the world is definitely ready to experience the "magnificence" of Mone't... Critics say, "Mone't "shines" when she performs, she "graceful" and "exciting" channeling the class and vocal "genius" of the greats before her... With the void of the ultimate female performer being a thorn in music's side, Mone't is here to finally ease the pain and she's definitely worth the wait..
