Hello all my dearest friends!
With so many of you connected to me via MySpace, it is my hope that the response to this Invitation will be able to produce a substantial impact for our displaced brothers and sisters. This is an event from the 28th-29th..... I will be requesting work off.... I will be re-arranging my plans.... I will be giving up the comfort of my own bed.... the food in my fridge... the warmth of my home... to become DISPLACED..... to be a part of a statement that will impact our government and media to help stop the war in Uganda, that is displacing copious amounts of men, women, and children.... As I write this, nearly 46,000 people in the US are committed to a Displace Me location... I want us to be part of something bigger than ourselves...
Everyone in the U.S. should be involved! These are the cities that are holding DISPLACE ME:

I will be DISPLACED to downtown Seattle. I will also be inviting everyone who wants to get involved in the Seattle/Eastside/North End/South End areas to congregate to a specific area - most likely a Starbucks... or possibly my own home... to meet up as a Team- and head to Displace Me together. PLEASE let me know ASAP if you are interested - EVERYONE IS WELCOME... ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE..... If you have never spoken to me in person, or are unsure if you'll know anyone involved... BUCK UP AND LET'S STAND UP FOR SOMETHING BIGGER THAN US! We are the youth of the nation :)

When Hurricane Katrina hit this country, we saw for the first time what a displaced American looks like. Now we’re asking you to voluntarily become displaced, leaving the comforts of your homes, to imagine for 24 hours what it’s like for the millions of people in Northern Uganda who have been displaced for more than ten years. The overnight event will begin at 3 p.m. local time in each of the 15 designated cities. Entry is free. The intent of the night is to encourage genuine compassion in the hearts of the participants towards the 1.5 million displaced and to positively impact US foreign policy in relation to Northern Uganda's peace process.
To experience this event at its full potential, you will be asked to give up your food and water upon entry. Both will be redistributed later in the evening. Displace Me's simulation aspects, such as the redistribution of food, exist to enhance the overall event experience, as well as your understanding of what life is like for those living in the IDP camps. We encourage you not to bring tents or other food besides the Saltine crackers and water bottles if possible.
During the evening you will hear the testimonials of some of those living in the camps, as well as other speakers chosen specifically for their personal connection to Northern Uganda. You will be asked to write letters to your senators and policy makers to encourage American involvement in ending the war and sending the people in the camps home.
Displace Me will end the morning of Sunday, April 29th at 10 a.m.

What is a displaced camp?
The Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) has abducted thousands of children, subjected them to torture or sexual violence and forced them to fight in a violent guerilla army for 21 years—making it the longest running war in Africa. In hopes of providing protection from this rebel militia, the Ugandan government forcibly evicted its Northern citizens from their homes—giving them 48 hours to relocate into camps. Today, more than 1.5 million Northern Ugandans remain far from secure, suffering nearly 1,000 deaths per week due to inhumane living conditions in the camps. Alcoholism, sexual abuse, HIV/AIDS, inadequate sanitation and lack of education have caused immeasurable damage to two generations and the near-total destruction of Acholi culture. Water is scarce and people are reliant on food to be delivered by foreign aid. If the food isn’t delivered, the people starve. This April, the already meager rations delivered by the World Food Program to the camps will be cut in half due to lack of funding—with school feeding programs and support for HIV/aids victims soon to follow. This will indisputably increase the number of deaths among those already suffering from severe malnutrition—mostly among women, children and the elderly. That is why the timing of this event, and your participation are so crucial.
“Displace Me” is the nationwide event giving Americans the chance to respond.
By traveling to one of our 15 camps and gathering together, the strength of our size will make a visible statement to our government and media that the citizens of the U.S. demand action in ending the war in Northern Uganda, in order to send the Acholi people suffering in the camps and the abducted children back home. The point is to travel; the point is to become displaced yourself.

People fascinate me. Humanity strikes me as odd, takes me for granted, betters me and tries to break me down.
It has been speculated that I should pursue the thoughts of my head rather than those of my heart, but too many accounts I've found using only your head leaves others in pain. Prejudicism continues to prevail due to the lack of what I believe to be intellect. --- The hinderance of equality continues to tear our planet apart. ---- Keep that in mind the next time you ignore the homeless... the foreigner who speaks little English... or the old man or woman who doesn't seem to comprehend...

Music can act as satan's spawn or Heaven's trumpets--- unfortunately. I am quite the eclectic listener- I like music that MOVES... If the artist can deliver a sound that has character, and the lyrics do not focus on trying to hype up the irrelevance, materialism, and arrogant ways of this world... I'm a fan. If the bass line kicks- it is likely to find me on the dance floor.
Film can create nearly tangible ideas that will either effect society positively, or negatively... I am cautious of what I choose to watch- ie: If the script is abundant with terror, murder, rape, disfunctional relationships, and/or abuse, I consider it to be pointless observation. Why waste my precious time? If a film has the capability to influence me or create a positive thinking process that will benefit me, *or hold my attention past the initial ten minutes*, I'm interested. Those that make me cry, receive applaud as well... given- I did cry in the movie, Joe Dirt... which may discredit that thought.... questionable.
I generally only accept friend requests from those I know- or w/ an introduction msg.
I consider most people to be a dime a dozen
I don't respond to messages containing explict content
I block crazy, perverted and unexplainably strange people
I am reminded daily of my blessings and of His everlasting love and forgiveness. Ahh... the beauty of God's grace! He's indefinitely saved me and you from the destiny we deserve. Jesus Christ doesn't see the raw imperfections or my sinful nature- He sees the young woman who loves Him and is pursuing Him more than anything of the 'world'. Nothing I do can add to the price He has paid, and the death that was overcome. The best any of us can do is lead a lifestyle that is pleasing and beneficial to God and His kingdom... to give more than we receive, and to run in such a way to win the prize! [-if these statements are ambiguous, or simply jibberish to you, feel free to drop me a message with any questions or comments]
Also, no words will emphasize my emotion towards my parents who have brought me into such a beautiful, blessed and priveledged life, and for being so financially, and emotionally supportive. . . The closest I can come is: *extremely blessed* :)
