About Me

Many people can sing and write songs, but there are very few who inspire and leave behind a legacy. Hughie Thomasson did just that. Starting The Outlaws in 1972, he went on to create a band that would go on for more than 30 years. In 1995, he then joined another legendary band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and played with them for almost ten years before leaving to again reform The Outlaws in 2005. They played many successful shows until sadly, just on September 9th, 2007, Hughie passed away of an apparent heart attack at his home in Florida.

Hughie has left behind many adoring family, friends, and fans who are absolutely heartbroken over this tragedy, but let us all remember that he is now in Heaven with all of our other Southern Rock heroes that have moved on. Rest in peace, Hughie, and God bless you. We'll all miss you very much, and your friends and family are in our prayers.

My Interests

Though they put you in the ground,
May your spirit still be found.
With God you are now,
But your memory is still with us.
Though we miss you every day,
We know your love is here to stay.
From the moment I found out,
My tears were falling to the ground.
You touched my soul,
With your rock and roll.
Heaven's got a new angel,
May you rest in peace forever and ever.
We love and miss you Hughie Thomasson...

Flap your wings, let them fly,
Let them take you to the sky...
