Thamnos

Thamnos is the project of Annemarie Borg and Thomas Weiss.
As artists we have combined our talents to speak sincerely and with an open mind of what we witness and experience today. We both mean to bring our message without the boundaries of prejudice regarding religious and cultural differences. We see the world as one, with all its inhabitants and all its colours.
In our work the music, the voice and the words all merge to express concern and anxiety in front of how we all as human beings deal with the threatened balance of our world, as well as to marvel at its magic and beauty. We also reflect here on the dangers and violent aspects of human behaviour openly and often unemotionally since this seems more honest to us. The state of our Society today, in view of its high-tech development gives sadly people the opportunity to be blind to what may be the very essence of being as in respecting and loving our planet - Society today often seduces us with the superficial.
We believe that our music reflects the thoughts and fears of many people today, yet who find difficult to express it openly. It is filled with sadness, anxiety and hope, feelings most of us seem to live with in view of our present and our future. Our themes touch the rights and responsibilities of our society and us individuals, as well as our choices may they be great or small, to give our future a different direction.
This long term project represents our commitment to honest expression and change. We hope very sincerely to challenge openly, to excite, to bring forth questions and open doors as well as reflect our strong hope for the future.
