The New Metal Detector CD Is Out Now!
By now all of you metal reporting stations, active rockers and just all-around cool people should have received the latest FMQB Metal Detector CD sampler, hosted by Big Jim of WHJY/Providence. (Today is also the five-year anniversary of the Rhode Island nightclub fire that killed WHJY’s long-time Metal Zone host Mike “Dr. Metal†Gonsalves, so let’s take a moment to remember that.) The latest edition of the Metal Detector features the new radio edit of the Type O Negative single “September Sun,†as well as new tunes from Bullet For My Valentine, Black Tide, Soilwork, From First To Last, Enter Shikari and The Sword! The new Sword album won’t be out until April so the song on the sampler, “Fire Lances of the Ancient Hyperzephyrians,†offers a super-early sneak peek of the doom riffing that is yet to come. Last but not least, there are some unsigned bands called Fat Sam from Virginia and Demolition Faction from Delaware, and you should check them out as well.
