Started writing raps in 1989, Jay O first came up in the underground Halifax hip hop scene as a member of the group Bassment Unit with partner Rob Style in 1992.Gathered a healthy following playing shows all over NS and the Maritimes with The Haltown Meltdown series,With such groups as Haltown Projex,Modr'n World Thang,Universal Soul,Hip Club Groove,Nathan C and others.Made the cover of the Coast(halifax music and arts magazine)in 1993 at age 18.Guesting on many albums over the next few years, and now based in Toronto, Jay O is poised to release his first solo album tenitvley titled "a drunk mans words"In the near future.Till then keep the beats hot and the beer cold.
