The meaning of the name thry site is a reflection of his approach towards music and life in general, where he sees everything, not only with his eyes, but also his mind, which represents the third eye. He credits his mother as a major source of inspiration, and was artistically influenced by artists such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones and A Tribe Called Quest. In 1992, he was enrolled in a program provided by YMCA Youth Employment called Fresh Arts. Originally in the dance program, he eventually switched to musical production, where he first experienced a recording studio. A self-taught recording engineer, thry site's production isn't limited to just hip hop, but includes R&B, drum'n'bass, and even house music. Thry site writes and composes all of his music himself.
