Drama is an established DJ and producer who has recently burst into the dubstep scene. Formerly part of the Cast Iron Projects, “Drams†can boast playing in venues such as Ministry of Sound, Herbal, 93 Feet East (Mindie) and the Coronet (Urban Nerd); and on radio stations such as Fresh and Wax FM. He has 4 mixtapes under his belt and another one entitled ‘The Pleasure of Mixing’ dropping soon.
Drama’s DJ career started at 13, when drum and bass was the sound of choice and pirate radio, the medium. Typical of the era, he soon developed a penchant for UKG and DJ’ed on radio and under 18 raves every week. As UKG turned to grime, so did Drama with the forming of Cast Iron Projects back in 2004. However, dubstep was always on the agenda for the now 22 year old, with his sets for the Projects forever being peppered with tunes by the likes of Benga, Tes Le Rok and Skream. He soon became fully engrossed in the sound and turned his hand to producing, churning out tunes such as ‘Too Much’, ‘Catastropee’ and ‘NewlyWed’.
In early 2007 Drama decided to go it alone, breaking from “the camp†and establishing himself as a fully certified champion of dubstep. He has grown into a well respected DJ and producer, with many admirers from the scene, both here and in Europe. With bookings rolling in and labels knocking on the door to snap up his beats, right now it seems as though everyone’s after a bit of Drama.
