About Me

MySpace Led Scroller--- I would like to thank Millie for her help in developing and designing the numania site she as done a great job and is a good friend..Both Millie and myself will be running and updating the site and we hope all our friends enjoy the numania experience..
Martin Navard - Lead Vocals
An avid Numan fan since "Are Friends Electric" blasted to the No. 1 slot in 79’ Martin heard the song but didn’t appreciate the whole picture until he saw the hard hitting image of an almost alien like being drenched in stark white light on "Top of the Pops".
Martin has followed all of Gary’s different styles and images over the years, using the right make-up and clothes to become a true numanoid. He’s been involved in numerous gigs and bands performing at probably the largest convention held in Manchester, which included some of, the original lighting rig used for Gary’s "Micromusic".
Tony Lane - Synths and Programming
Tony tells us of his musical influences, which are extremely vast from classical right through to the latest experimental sound he can squeeze from the newest gadgets by Roland and Korg. Another Numan fan that became hooked by the eerie sound of the Polymoog keyboard and is now working with it once again. Tony says "It can be very frustrating trying to reproduce an all round Numan boom which can only be done on old analogue gear – which keeps breaking down!" Even when Tony thought he would get away from Numan for a while by going to an airshow, who would be up there doing aerobatics, non other than Gary himself. Tony is often torn between Numania’s tribute music and flying his own aeroplane as a private pilot. He feels he has a real affinity with Gary as he flys down cloud canyon in a RAF Chipmunk.
With so may characters and types of electronic music created by Numan it’s not surprising that some fans have formed bands to recreate a tribute to his work. Gary as we all have seen has changed form, sound and style many times over and is now producing some of the best material we have seen for years. As Gary concentrates on his new music which becomes ever more powerful and complicated, we enjoy being nostalgic reproducing some of his music from the past twenty years.
The great Fan base that exists has put together some very interesting line-ups such as Numanic and Replicas. These bands producing Gary’s music in their own style are well worth seeing at the gigs in and around the big cities.
As Numania constructs a retro set, we hope you will view our video and check out the MP3 file's on this web site. We will update this web site with new videos, songs and information keeping in touch with the other bands for gig and convention dates.
Our aim as Numania is to reproduce some of Gary Numan’s classic songs in our own style from his many different phases and faces.
