Southern Storm was started in 2005 by Terry Simmons, rhythm guitarist. His dream was always to play music and some day make it big. He had been in several other bands during his lifetime but eventually gave them up to raise his daughter, Amanda, who is currently the bass player for Southern Storm. Giving music one more shot, he got together with Glenn Davis, whom he played with 20 years previously, and they started working on the group. Later the band found Donnie Clay & Tina Alverson. Donnie, like Terry, had been in several bands over the years & had almost given up on music. He is a singer who truly beleives in the music he sings, and understands that music touches people's lives. He sings from the heart and has an amazing sound. Tina had always enjoyed music, & her memory of songs & lyrics is amazing. Her voice compliments Donnie's to a tee, and togther they are a dynamic duo. Amanda had always played guitar but never dreamed of doing it in front of a crowd. She has become a solid bass player that her dad can be proud of. Laura Burroughs had played music all her life with her dad, singing & playing keyboards since she was about 5 years old. Laura was the perfect addition to the group, her keyboards add a sound that Billy Powell would be proud of. Wesley McDaniel is a young drummer that was discovered at the Mojo Room, a small place for musicians to get together & jam. He was in the Marching Band in High School, and now keeps the perfect beat with Southern Storm. Glenn Davis is a smoking lead guitarist who could match licks with some of the best! Terry Simmons, Glenn Davis, & Amanda Harmon, "make up the 3 guitar army" as Lynyrd Skynyrd once said. They keep the band on it's toes. With a solid drum beat, killer keyboard, harmonizing back up vocals, & a lead singer who's voice gives listeners chills, Southern Storm is ready & anxious to move up in the world. They believe in the good ole' boys, southern traditions, & music that is more than just words that flow, but actually have a meaning. Southern Storm wants to see southern rock rise again, where bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd live forever and southern values remain true. Southern Rock from the Heart, all the way. !!!
