I am an official Cal Berkeley Alumni!! C/o 2008. I'm in the Navy Reserves (still) and have been in the military for over 9 years now. I also work full time as a Navy contractor (separate from the Navy Reserves). I will be embarking on yet another life changing trip when I leave 5/30 for Egypt. Just because we may have been born in a box, doesn't mean we can't reshape it, bust out of it, or erase it.
I have a lot of lessons learned in my rolodex. They are all important to the situations and circumstances they pertain to but one that weighs heavy on my mind is family. I've learned to cherish each and every moment because there is no guarantee those moments will be available in the future. God is good. He's blessed me in ways I still can't quite see. The past year has been was rough, but God has carried me through it all. Only He could have brought me through the storm with a smile on my face.
I enjoy life. I love my family and friends. I'm happy in the space that I am currently in and I look forward to learning more about myself over time. I realize I am constantly transcending and it is a wonderful and beautiful experience. I'm truly living my dreams and I can't imagine my life any different. None of it would be possible without God by my side at all times. I give all the glory and praise to Him.
Live life, love hard, God bless.
A few quotes:
"Sometimes we put walls up not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to break them down."
"Our true identity is to love without fear and insecurity. Our higher potential finds us when we set our course in that direction. The power of love and compassion transform insecurity."
"Love is like a plant, you have to water it in order for it to grow. Love doesn't sustain itself."
