About Me

like my life i am fairly eclectic and i like many things. i'm not a big fan of organized religion, but i do believe it's wise to have faith in something unexplainable. i believe in love and i believe in fate and sometimes the two lines intersect and that's ok. there's nothing wrong with destiny, sometimes it just needs to be embraced. laughing not only lightens the mood, it purifies. if you can't laugh at yourself sometimes, then what can you laugh at? i enjoy holding conversations with intelligent individuals, but you don't have to be a rocket scientist to gain my attention. a fair amount of wittiness and humor go a long way when talk of politics or current events becomes unbearable. i think it's ok to still play games and i enjoy final fantasy XI much to the jibes and jabs from my friends and tho i value their opinion, ultimately the decision is mine and i choose to play. i enjoy the company of my friends and a night out at the club does much to relieve a fair amount of stress. i surround myself with amazing people and apparently, a "line of beauty," to quote a friend of mine. people see this as cliquish, but i assure you we're not a clique. if we don't talk to you, there's a reason that runs much deeper than surface tissue. i like listening to music on my ipod, but i am not above listening to talk radio when the mood grabs me. sometimes listening in on a conversation of strangers gives you more insight on yourself than you'd think. i enjoy sports, football being foremost, and i won't think twice about sitting down with someone and having a beer while watching the game. i like to work out, tho admittedly i haven't done it nearly as much as i'd like or should. reading is a passion of mine and i can always get lost in a good book while writing is an outlet that i wish i had more time for. i'm not afraid of love but i am afraid of people incapable of love. i'm also afraid of spiders and clowns (in that order). that's me in a nutshell, tho certainly not every aspect of me. if you want to know more, ask. my life is an open book to the truly interested.if anyone is on xboxlive, this is my gamertag.

My Interests

hazelnut lattes, skim, no foam are great on a chilly winter morning while mango ice tea (with a few shots of sugar-free vanilla syrup) is great in the summer. i like to wear dark sunglasses and watch people go about their daily lives unobtrusively, noting their quirks or critiquing them on their fashion sense (like i am even a good judge of that.) i love mexican food ... i positively adore sushi. captain and coke is my drink when i go out, but sometimes i'll switch it up and stick with beer (yeungling, guinness or miller lite) i love to write whatever is in my head be it poetry, short stories, or novels in process, however, sometimes the thoughts in my head sound better than when on paper. i love to read, my favorite authors being dean koontz and patricia cornwell, but i'm not against suggestions on other great reads. orange tulips are my favorite flower, but any flowers as a gift are nice. i love my friends and i love my family and i will do anything for them as they make me whole.

I'd like to meet:

someone who isn't afraid to love another person and not run away when and if things get serious. it's ok to be scared ... it's natural.

Music:

i like far too many artists to name so i'll just randomly put some down in no particular order of preferance: aimee mann, peaches, scissor sisters, goldfrapp, lords of acid, ladytron, coldplay, violent femmes, they might be giants, the ark, mojave 3, sia, tool, yellow card, korn, senses fail, system of a down, cyndi lauper, madonna, morningwood, death cab for cutie, tegan and sara, sarah mclachlan, marilyn manson, dirty sanchez, wolf parade, steve miller band, ciara, indigo girls, rusted root, stellastar*, the white stripes, yaz, and many more ...

Movies:

i am a self-proclaimed movie whore. i love movies and i am a wiz at movie trivia as, for some reason, my mind retains useless information.

Television:

as with the music, these shows are not listed in any particular order of preference: lost, scrubs, the office, how i met your mother, top chef, mad tv, saturday night live, american dad, grey's anatomy, avatar: the last airbender, family guy, simpsons, futurama, iron chef, e.r., drawn together, crossing jordan, las vegas, vanished, studio 60 on the sunset strip, stargate: atlantis, dexter, csi, weeds, heroes

Books:

dean koontz, christopher rice, j.d. robb, laurel k. hamilton, patricia cornwell (though her last two books were hard to get through), r.a. salvatore, j.k. rowling, forgotten realms series (i'm a nerd, i know).

Heroes:

my family ... my friends.
