Ben

If my thought dreams could be seen, they'd probably put my head in a guillotine.

About Me

I'm a student at Michigan State University. I consider myself a philosopher, writer and all around renaissance man. I love great conversation. I also like fashion; punk, rock, blues and jazz; cars of all kind, working with my hands and working with my head.I'm extremely dry in my humor. I consider myself a really nice person, but the amount of willpower it takes to restrain myself when it comes to screaming at idiots at the top of my lungs is almost becoming unbearable.

My Interests

Reading, bicycling, skiing, finding interesting new beer, submarine warfare, Cosmology, Quantum Mechanics, philosophy, psychology, art, feminism, psychology, communism, anarchism, learning new things, meeting new people and hanging out in Andy Rothermel's barn while he's not there.

I'd like to meet:

Stolen from Angela: "Someone who understands me."

Music:

Really love The Blues. Big fan of classical(to sharpen me up for a bit ye ole ultra violence), I like surf, especially Dick Dale(the greatest guitar player alive[let's see you melt your strings mother fuckers]I dare anyone not to butcher Misirlou), classic rock, classic country(J.C., Outlaws, Haggard, Jennings), Bob Dylan, Rollings Stones, Pink Floyd, The Beatles(White Album and Abbey Road), Allman Brothers, Pearl Jam, Neil Diamond, Misfits, Social D., Ten Second March(best band around)

Movies:

Dr. Strangelove, Apocalypse Now, Streetcar Named Desire, On The Waterfront, The Departed, Kill Bill, Hunt for Red October, Das Boot, Run Silent Run Deep, Master and Commander, Wrath of Kahn, Serenity, Blues Brothers, V For Vendetta, Conan The Barbarian; Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Empire Strikes Back, All Quiet on The Western Front.

Television:

Law and Order, Star Trek, CSPAN, Firefly, Boston Legal, Simpsons, Family Guy, Nova, Farscape, No Reservations, Daily Show(less skewed Fox and CNN) and Joey.

Books:

Usual socio-communist propaganda, philosophy books, politics books, Stephen Hawking(On The Shoulders of Giants. Check it out!), Sagan, Robert E. Howard and anything Conan, and Mr. Scott's Guide to The Enterprise. Chicks especially dig the last one.

Heroes:

The definition of a hero is an ordinary person thrust into extraordinary circumstances. In my days of adventuring I have met few that, when the time came, would not take up the role of hero.
