About Me

Alexis EppsAlexis is no newcomer to music. Since the tender age of 5, she has been singing for all. Starting out in her hometown church in Knoxville, Tennessee, she sang with her grandmother wherever someone would listen. After moving to Maryland, she began singing in church choirs and granted solos. At 13 and 14 years old she auditioned and sang in The Children of the Gospel with the Washington Performing Arts Association. She continued her love of music through middle and high school, performing in plays, musicals and talent shows. ______________________________________________________ After graduating she took the backseat and lent her voice for background vocals for local artists. She explored the other side of the business and did promotions for a local radio station and decided to focus on writing and dancing. She took dance classes in college and began to write songs for herself. ______________________________________________________ In September of 2007, Alexis was signed to an independent label out of VA Beach; linking up with groups like Tru Vizion, Tru Playaz Ent., Six, Young Charmers and Frank Nitti of the Committee Gang. After the fold of Envious Entertainment in 2008, she began to work with producer Rube Rice of Baltimore, MD. At the moment, Alexis is currently performing with Y.U.N.G. – Youth United N GOD – on their Baltimore Street Tour; performing every weekend in some of the poverty stricken neighborhoods of Baltimore City. ______________________________________________________ There is no denying her voice is her biggest asset and that her confidence and personality sets her apart from the rest. Though she has been compared to Raven Symone and a younger and ambitious Whitney Houston, she remains true to a style all her own.
