dear world, STOP STEALING OUR EQUIPMENT

About Me

The Montauk Project began in late 2005, in the corn capital of Illinois, on the top of a castle located on NIU’s campus. We were all in a different band together, and while on top of the castle, decided that we wanted to take our music in a completely different direction. The resulting songs, written and recorded over the course of that winter and spring, are what comprises the “Trees Against Skies EP.” Our music is marked by influences of instrumental indie music and indie rock bands as well. 65daysofstatic, Explosions in the Sky, The Redneck Manifesto, Portugal the Man, Brand New, Mae, and Thrice are some of our biggest influences. The Montauk Project’s members are Rickey Piscopo on guitar and vocals, Bobby Demakis on bass and vocals, and Mike Doyle on drums.
