About Me

"You never quit on your music. No matter what happens. Because anytime something bad happens to you, it's the one place you can escape to and just, psh, let it go." - Louis, "August Rush"

How can I even begin to write an autobiography? I was born in Sacramento, CA on July 10, 1987. There isn't much to say about my childhood, except that I survived, and I discovered my true self. High school was a major transition in my life, as it is for many individuals. I resolved at this point to just be my true self, and accept the consequences of that decision. This philosophy evolved throughout those four years, and greatly affected my choices regarding my future. While music was definitely a passion, and the prospect of a music career always lingered in the back of my head, it never seemed a true possibility, because I was brought up to be practical and academic. However, my experiences and wisdom taught me that one of the most important things in life is to follow one's true essence, and as I continued to discover myself, I realized that to do this I needed to study music. It was a drastic change in my life path, but since then many signs have confirmed that I made the right choice. I am currently in my second year of studying voice at Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, CA (in the San Francisco Bay Area), under the instruction of tenor Eric Morris, who is the lead tenor in the a cappella group The EDLOS. I have discovered so many styles of music, and I am now completely rethinking my musical direction. Currently, I desire a career as a Classical Crossover musician (Josh Groban-esque), but also hold a passion for church music, art songs (esp. Samuel Barber at the moment), Celtic music, a cappella music, and cabaret (of various types, including what is classified as Punk/Dark Cabaret). I have great hopes for my future as a musician in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Sounds Like:

I sound like a great many things, but most importantly myself! Classic mezzo sound, defined by straight tone and minimal vibrato (save for when it's needed). Watch some of my videos to hear for yourself! Or ask my friends!
